Melissa Green joined the staff team at Sorrento Centre in the summer of 2008 as a member of the Summer Youth Staff Leadership Team. After serving that team for five years she transitioned into a Director position with responsibilities for supporting the programming and youth leadership development work of the Centre; a role she continues to oversee as the Associate Director. She is grateful for the opportunity to engage in this work at this holy place of Sorrento Centre.
Melissa has a commitment to ministry within the church and believes that we are each called to a ministry of service and witness in the church and the world. While not at Sorrento Centre you can find Melissa working with children, youth and families at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Kamloops or working with our National Anglican Church and the British Columbia and Yukon Anglican Youth Movement (BCYAYM). Central to Melissa’s sixteen years of work with young people in the church is an important understanding of mentorship and journeying alongside while creating spaces where the Holy One can be encountered and community can be built and Christian formation can naturally take place.
Melissa enjoys cooking, baking, knitting, hiking, spending time with her nephews and siblings and has a deep passion for the work and life communities can share in together.
