Josie Pearce is a visual artist specializing in work with pencil, pen and ink, pastel, oil and acrylic mediums. She is self-taught, has attended a vast number of art classes and workshops and continues to be creatively inspired by her family, many of whom are also successful artists and teachers. It was Calgary Nature and Wildlife artist David N. Kitler who encouraged her to creatively focus on painting animals and wildlife.
Josie has embraced the natural world as her tutor, studying flora and fauna as far away as the swelter of an African safari to the nearby shade of her beloved Copper Island. Says Josie about the creative process, “I love the way art can guide us on a journey that can awaken our inner spirit.”
Josie moved to Scotch Creek in 2014 where she continues to paint, teach and participate in local shows and sales. Her stunning works have been printed on greeting cards and can be seen in many local outlets including the Sorrento Centre Gift Store.
