“Enjoy the little things in life because one day you'll look back and realize they were the big things.”
Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

In this 3 day workshop we will be paying attention to the little things! We will take short walks on the wonderful grounds at Sorrento Center gathering some of the little things that catch our eye and using simple marks to record what we see. Interesting rocks, pebbles, feathers, leaves , flowers seedheads or other treasures are all possible starting places for our explorations.

Students will create a personal collection of found objects and record their treasures and ideas primarily on paper. Techniques will include drawing, mark making and print in several forms. We will create a selection of papers and use them for simple handmade books that will be a personal record of your time.

Students may like to explore some of these processes on fabric alongside their work on paper.
