We are preparing to welcome guests back to our lovely 24-acre main campus in the beautiful Shuswap region of British Columbia. BC officials are expected to announce "re-start" plans to ease public health restrictions on Tuesday afternoon. Since late November, the Sorrento Centre has been closed to most in-person gatherings as our province - and the entire world - has navigated through the latest wave of the global pandemic.
On the weekend, we planted cana-lillies, weigela and Japanese cypress in our lovely new planter at our main entrance on Passchendaele Road as we get ready to offer a warm and generous welcome. Scott from our maintenance team found an amazing piece of driftwood that we are going to use as a planter in front of Spes Bona, our iconic administration building.
At the Sorrento Centre, we are committed to meet and exceed public health and WorkSafeBC rules and guidelines. We safely opened for five months last year under strict protocols - and we will ensure that the health and well-being of our guests, staff and neighbours remain our top priority.
We have already started to welcome private stays in our family-oriented RV and tenting sites, and our cabanas. We will continue to take bookings throughout the summer - based on key protocols. Call our office at 250-675-2421.
We have been offering on-line courses - including upcoming events on May 29 (Blessings Weaver with Jeff Stockton); May 30 (JourneyDance with Sheilagh McGlynn); June 8 + 10 (Transitions with Dan Hines); and June 10 (Homefulness - the sequel).
We are taking bookings for summer and fall courses, and planning a busy agenda for the winter, spring, summer and fall of 2021. See our full calendar of offerings by clicking on "Calendar" in the top menu; or see the next dozen events on the home page of our website (click on the Sorrento Centre wordmark above to get directly to the home page).
As soon as we have reviewed the new BC rules expected on Tuesday, and updated our own pandemic protocols, we'll send more updates...
