A day of prayer and fasting for Bill C-262 - the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act. Canada's Truth and Reconciliation Commission calls the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People as "the framework for reconciliation". The bill to implement the Declaration in Canada is in the Senate - and needs a boost to get through the legislative process so that it doesn't expire (as all draft legislation does) once an election is called. The Anglican Church of Canada and other faith groups are calling for a good, old-fashioned fast for justice on Wednesday to get some power behind the bill. More information here..
