New public health rules to tackle increased COVID-19 cases are being implemented as of midnight on Friday, August 20. The new rules cover the entire Interior Health region of British Columbia, including Sorrento. Case counts have been rising in recent days, especially among unvaccinated people.
The new rules include:
The Sorrento Centre is committed to meet and exceed public health and WorkSafeBC rules and guidelines. We are reviewing our current pandemic safety plan to ensure that it fulfills all the requirements of the latest public health order.
We'll be posting details of our updated safety plan shortly.
We encourage everyone to get their first and second COVID-19 vaccination. In addition to following the latest public health rules, getting the jab is the best way to protect yourself, your family and your neighbours - and to cut the COVID case count.
There is an immunization clinic on Monday, August 23, at the Sorrento Memorial Hall - and an ongoing clinic in Salmon Arm.
