The provincial government's Restart BC plan for the safe and gradual re-opening of our province over the summer has quite a few dynamic parts to it... so, the BC government has produced a very useful "at-a-glance" guide to the four phases. The health and well-being of our guests, staff and neighbours is the top priority of the Sorrento Centre. Our current pandemic protocols are posted on the home page of our website (look for the button "COVID-19 and the Sorrento Centre").
We safely opened for five months last year. We continue to monitor on a daily basis public health and WorkSafeBC rules and guidelines, and update our own procedures throughout our 24-acre main campus and 8-acre natural farm - from our kitchen to housekeeping to our buildings and grounds. We are reviewing and updating all of our pandemic plans and will be posting updated practices and protocols in the coming days to meet the provincial deadline of a new safety plan by July 1. In the meantime, all the existing rules are in place and are being enforced.
We are welcoming guests who want to RV and tent, or stay in our cabanas, from our region right away. After June 15, we will be welcoming guests from across the province. And, after July 1, from across Canada - all according to the BC plan.
We are hosting small events that comply with the Restart BC plan, and are looking forward to hosting slightly larger groups as the public health rules permit over the summer. We have started waiting lists for some of our more popular summer events in order to respect caps on the number of people in a gathering. As the caps are eased, we will invite people from the wait lists to join us for a bright and joyous summer.
